Kendell and Shauntay became friends on an airplane, and a photo of their happy reunion has warmed hearts across the country after being shared on Facebook. The photo shows the duo strolling out of the airport hand in hand after connecting on a flight in Michigan.

Now the two youngsters have reunited again and are making plans for future playdates together. The two went viral after an unrelated woman named Monica shared the photo of the kids holding hands walking through the airport. She hoped the photo would find its way to Shauntay’s mother who she sat next to on the plane.

Her post said, “I would love for her to find this picture, but I never caught her name. The little boy in this photo is hers.” The post said the picture gave her hope for the future. “This can and should be our future – color-free, yet so colorful.”

Monica says the little girl didn’t even hesitate to just go up to the little boy and scoop his hand into hers. It didn’t take long for Shauntay’s mom to spot the photo and share it herself. Kenya Menzies-Peoples says with all the bad stories and bad things we hear it was nice to something pure and innocent.

Allegiant Airlines was so touched by Kendell and Shauntay’s friendship that they gifted both families $100 off their next flight and free parking at the airport.

Nicole McClusky, Kendells’ mother says the photo’s popularity is proof that we need more good in the world. “This just gives us hope.”
