Over the weekend, France’s soccer team won the coveted World Cup title with a 4-2 victory over Croatia in the final. Now, one member of the team is making headlines with the truly selfless act of kindness he carried out after the win.

Kylian Mbappe, a 19 year-old forward on the French team, made around $22,500 for each of the seven games that France played in the World Cup, and he was also given a $350,000 bonus when they won. This means that he made around half a million dollars for the entire tournament!

While most teenagers would use their winnings to party and fund an extravagant lifestyle, Kylian has stunned everyone by announcing that he is donating 100% of his winnings to charity! He will be donating all of the money to the Premiers de Cordee charity, which helps disabled and hospitalized children get into sports. The young soccer player has been donating to the charity since last summer.

“Kylian, he’s a great person,” said Sebastien Ruffin, general manager of the charity. “When his schedule allows it, he intervenes for us with pleasure. He has a very good [relationship] with children, he always finds the right [words] to encourage them. I sometimes even feel that [he] takes more pleasure to play with the kids than the kids themselves.”

Kylian has also been winning legions of fans with his humble attitude. When Kylian became the second youngest soccer player to score in a World Cup final, Brazilian soccer legend Pelé took to Twitter to write, “If Kylian keeps equalling my records like this I may have to dust my boots off again…”
