Royal fans everywhere were heartbroken when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced back in 1996. That’s why so many people are ecstatic that new reports indicate that they may soon be walking down the aisle together once again!
During their ten year marriage, Andrew and Sarah had two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, before they called it quits. However, new reports have indicated that neither of them wanted to divorce, and they only had to “because of the circumstances.”
These “circumstances” are thought to be compromising photographs of Sarah having an affair with another man. These photos leaked to the press in the early 1990s, and they proved to be too much for the royal family to bear, so the couple was pressured to divorce.
As soon as the Queen Mother died in 2002, Andrew and Sarah started living together again. They claimed that they were doing this so that they could parent their daughters better, but they continue to live together to this day, long after Beatrice and Eugenie have left the home.
In the last few years, Sarah has been seen attending more royal events with Andrew, and even Queen Elizabeth has been seen interacting with her.
This year, Sarah was invited to the Queen’s viewing stand at Royal Ascot, and photos from the event indicate that the two have a nice friendship.
With Eugenie set to marry Jack Brooksbank in October, speculation is mounting as to whether her parents will be the next royals to walk down the aisle!
”Princess Eugenie’s wedding will, if you like, be a final test,” a courtier said. “A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since the Duke and Duchess of York divorced. Her Majesty did see the Duchess’ point of view and has always had a soft spot for her.”
Andrew’s father Prince Philip is said to be dead set against him remarrying Sarah as well, but since he is 97 years-old, it’s been speculated that the couple may be waiting for him to pass before moving forward with any wedding plans.
