The Royal family has been very busy the last couple of months. Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married, and Prince George is getting ready to celebrate his fifth birthday.

This last week, the Royal family added one more celebration to the list. They celebrated Prince Louis’ christening. Following tradition, within weeks of Louis’ birth, he was christened by the head of the Church of England.

During the ceremony, Louis was dressed in the traditional gown that is a replica of the gown used in 1841 when Queen Victoria was reigning. She reportedly had the gown made for her daughter. It has since been worn by 63 royal babies over eight generations.

The ceremony took place at St. James Palace and was only attended by close friends and family. Louis’ great grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not in attendance, but Buckingham Palace has assured the public it wasn’t due to health issues.

Following the ceremony guests were invited to the Clarence House where they were served slices of cake from a tier of William and Kate’s iconic 2011 wedding cake. Almost a week after the christening William and Kate shared photographs of the big day.

The photos show family photos as well as pictures of Prince Louis in the traditional christening gown. Although the Queen wasn’t present at the christening, a tribute was made to the monarch with a portrait of her in one of the photos.

A few of the photos feature some very special mother and son photos in the Clarence House garden that are about as adorable as they come. It’s easy to see why the couple chose to share photos of the day because they are beautiful photos.

Be sure to share these beautiful family photos with your family and friends.
