Queen Elizabeth was forced to miss the christening of her great grandson Prince Louis last week because of scheduling conflicts. However, she still found a way to appear in the official family photos from the event in a unique way!

Prince William and Kate Middleton posed with Louis and the rest of the family in the Morning Room at Clarence House for the official christening photos. They were joined by their other two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as Prince Charles, Camila Parker Bowles, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.

While the Queen was not present physically, she made an appearance in the photos anyway, as a painting of the Queen can be seen behind her family!

Coincidentally, the Queen is wearing blue in the painting, the same color as Princess Charlotte, Prince George, Carole and Pippa Middleton, Princes Charles, William and Harry and James Matthews and James Middleton. The Middleton family joined the group for additional christening photos.

The Queen undoubtedly would have loved to attend Louis’ christening, but the busy week she had last week made going impossible. The Queen’s week included numerous events and a meeting with President Donald Trump. At 92 years of age, the Queen knew she needed rest going into that week, so she sadly had to sit out of Louis’ christening. However, we’re glad that the family still found a way to include the Queen by posing in front of her painting!
