When Rush, a homeless pit bull, came to the SICSA Pet Adoption Center in October 2015, he was like most other shelter dogs. He was scared and sad. The adoption center did everything they could imagine to make him feel more comfortable.

They showered him with affection, treats, and provided him with a comfy bed. Then one day when a shelter worker walked past Rush’s kennel she saw something she had never seen before. He was making his bed.

Every day about the same time, Rush would carefully move his blanket around, so the worker decided to take a video of the pooch and place it on social media. Much to the shelter’s surprise, the video went viral and over one million people watched it.

After the video went viral, Rush became famous. News agencies contacted the shelter wanting to feature him and they shelter used the opportunity to talk about how pit bulls make amazing pets. It wasn’t long before applications for Rush’s adoption started pouring in.

In a video, one husband and wife explained that they’d lost their dog earlier that year. They weren’t sure that they were ready for a new dog, but then the husband saw Rush’s story on the news and his wife saw it online.

As they were headed to the shelter, they received a sign that they were making the right move. They passed a Cincinnati Bengals billboard that said “Rush to be there.” Just like that, with one sign, they knew they were doing the right thing.

Check out the video below where the couple talks about knowing that Rush was part of the big plan, and be sure to share this happy story with your family and friends.
