A Minnesota mother and daughter have died after being struck by a boulder that fell off of the truck in front of them and smashed into their vehicle. Both women were declared dead at the scene and the man driving the truck has been arrested.

Karen Christiansen, 67, was driving the vehicle and her daughter, Jena Christiansen, 32, was the passenger when the 800 pound boulder became dislodged from the dump truck in front of them and smashed into their car.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said the cause of death for both women was blunt force trauma to the head. The truck driver of the dump truck didn’t even stop when the boulder fell off his truck killing the women.

Police identified the driver of the truck as 33-year-old Joe Czeck and he was arrested and will be facing charges. Czeck is the owner of the company that was hauling the rock as well as the driver of the truck.

The family of the two women say that the world has lost two beautiful souls. Jena’s boyfriend says she was an angel and she made him a better man. “She would do anything for anyone who needed help. She loved her family so much,” he says.
