A heartbreaking video recently went viral showing a German Shepherd named Rain crying like a human when she was rescued by the organization Hope For Paws. Even the seasoned staffers had never heard an animal make the noises that Rain was making…

“Rain was crying like a human…she was so scared,” one staffer said. “But at the same time wanted to be helped.”

Carey Linnell had called the rescue group when she found Rain, who had been living under a van alone for days. She was terrified when she saw her rescuers, who had nets to trap her, but they knew just what to do. They used hamburger meat to entice Rain and talked to her softly to let her know they meant her no harm.

Thankfully, Rain knew Carey, who helped the rescuers gain her trust. As soon as the rescuers had her, Rain was transported back to their facility, where she was given a spa treatment.

Since her rescue, Rain has transformed from a sad, terrified creature into a friendly, affectionate dog! She has since found the loving forever home that she deserves and been given a new name: Sassy Pants! She even has an older brother dog named Ernie!
