One of Hollywood’s most devoted couples celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary last week, and they’re still deeply in love. Despite their 22 year age difference, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are still going strong.

Ford, who is 76, still has plenty of charm. His long romantic history includes two failed marriages and an affair with his “Star Wars” co-star, Carrie Fisher. But it was Flockhart who managed to be the one that would tie him down for what looks to be the last time.

They met in 2002 at the Golden Globes where rumor has it Flockhart was so excited to meet him that she spilled her drink on him. She still swears it wasn’t her that spilled the wine, but rather it was Ford instead.

The duo immediately started dating, although they kept their relationship quiet because Ford was still married to his estranged second wife. They moved in together in 2003 and by 2009 Ford popped the question with a romantic getaway on Valentine’s Day.

They married in 2009 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with a casual wedding. The couple has faced plenty of challenges, including Ford becoming a father again in his 60’s. Flockhart had adopted a baby before meeting Ford and the little boy, Liam, was still an infant when the couple moved in together. Ford has four other children from his previous marriages and quickly bonded with the little one.

Not only is Flockhart devoted to her son, she’s devoted to Ford too. When Ford was severely injured in a 2015 plane crash that broke his back, ankle, and pelvis. Flockhart arrived every morning at the hospital to be by his side.

Flockhart, now 54, says the age gap between the two of them has never phased her. She says she actually forgets all the time that he is 22 years older than her. She says sometimes she feels like she’s the one that’s actually older.

She says it is his sense of humor that keeps their relationship strong. Flockhart says they laugh together a lot. Plus he’s a wonderful parent, warm, and loving. Ford says he wasn’t surprised at all to find love a third time in his twilight years.
