Stacey Faix was jut 15 years-old when she learned that she was pregnant, and she immediately started to panic, as she knew that she was not ready to be a mother. After giving birth to her baby son, Stacey immediately put him up for adoption, giving him up before she even held him once.

Years after her baby was born, his birth records were lost in a flood, so it seemed like he would never have a way of finding his mother. It was only in November of 2017 that a new law went into effect that would change Stacey’s life forever, even though she did not know it at the time.

The new law allows adoptees to obtain birth certificates containing the names of their original birth parents. Months later, Stacey headed to the Pittsburgh Half Marathon to run with her fellow members of Team Red, White, and Blue, a social organization that supports veterans. It had been 35 years since she gave her son up for adoption, so it was the last thing on her mind on the day of the marathon.

Just before the marathon was set to begin, Stacey was standing at the starting line with her family when she was handed a mysterious handwritten letter.

“It’s been 13,075 days since you last saw me,” the note read. “I didn’t want to make you wait one more.”

Stacey knew immediately who the man standing right behind her was, and what happens next will bring you to tears! Check out the emotional video of what happened below, and SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
