One Bee County Sheriff’s Deputy came to the rescue of a father and son when they found a large snake slithering out of the toilet in their bathroom.

Wade Vielock says he was cleaning the bathroom in the home when his six-year-old son saw the snake emerging from inside the toilet. “I looked back at the toilet and the snake was about three feet out, climbing towards the window,” said Vielock. “It took at least six years of my life.”

Vielock went scurrying out of the bathroom as soon as he discovered the snake and reached out to the sheriff’s office for help. Deputy Lindsay Scotten responded to the home and removed the snake from the bathroom.

She removed the snake with her hands. It was not injured and was released back into the brush surrounding the home. “There has been an increase in snake calls this year due to the weather and residents are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings,” said a post on the Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page.

The snake removed was a blue indigo snake that is non venomous and will actually eat venomous snakes. Meanwhile, Vielock made a promise to the deputy for coming to his rescue.

“The deputy told me she can’t kill a cockroach, but she will grab a snake. I told her she can call me anytime she wants and I’ll come kill all the cockroaches she wants if she gets that snake out of the house,” said Vielock.

I’d say she’s a better deputy than I would have been! I’m with Vielock. I’d rather kill a cockroach than be anywhere near a snake. What about you? Share this story with your friends and see what they think.
