Dogs are known as man’s best friend for a reason, as they can play a huge role in lifting someone’s spirits.

Cora the corgi was recently traveling through an airport with her owner when she noticed a man crying alone. At 8 years of age, Cora had been through quite a lot in her life, so when she saw a man in need of support, she knew she had to do something.

Cora is a rescue dog whose previous owners forced her to give birth to litter after litter of puppies. Thankfully, she was finally saved from this dreadful life and taken in by 23-year-old Madison Palm, who immediately fell in love with her.

Though Cora has experienced lots of pain and tragedy in her life, she still has lots of love to give to those around her.

“Cora’s personality is so amazing. She is a lover,” Madison said. “She is always next to me and always keeps a close eye if she’s not. If I’m not available, she’ll pick the next closest lap to sit on and nudges your hand unless you are petting her at all times.”

When Madison was preparing to fly to Alaska to visit her mother, she sat waiting for her flight with Cora at the Seattle airport. Since Cora is so well behaved, Madison let her off her leash to go explore. Without hesitating, Cora ran right up to the crying man and went about trying to cheer him up.

The man explained to Madison that he had lost his own dog the night before, and spending time with Cora helped him to deal with his grief in a healthy way. Madison shared photos of Cora and the man online, and they quickly went viral.

“She knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her. I’ve never questioned that. I am blown away by her on a daily basis. Who knew a dog who was unloved for seven and a half years could have so much love to give?” Madison said.

We’re so glad to see that despite everything she has been through herself, Cora still has so much love to give to those in need!
