On April 23, Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child, Prince Louis. Seven hours after his birth, Louis was introduced to the world when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out of the Lindo Wing and allowed hundreds of cameras to photograph the newborn as he rested.

Afterwards, Kate retreated to Kensington Palace with Louis while William continued to make royal appearances. When Louis was just over a week old, Kate snapped some photos of him at home, and one of the best ones showed him being held by his big sister, Princess Charlotte.

#throwback to May 2 , when this beautiful picture was taken?

Since this photo shoot, Louis has been kept completely out of the public eye. He attended neither the wedding of his uncle Prince Harry, nor the Trooping the Colour birthday celebration for Queen Elizabeth, his great grandmother.

Fans were saddened by Louis’s absence at these events, which is why they were overjoyed to learn that they will see him again on July 9 for his christening! Kate is making this christening very different from the baptism of Charlotte, as she is determined to not make the same mistake twice.

When Charlotte was baptized, Kate and William’s family of four travelled three hours for her to be christened at in Sandringham’s St. Mary Magdalene church in Norfolk, the same church where Princess Diana was baptized. While she enjoyed this christening, Kate has no interest in traveling three hours with three children under the age of five, so she has instead opted to have Louis christened at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London, just 11 minutes from Kensington Palace.

This sounds like a much smarter idea to us!

We can’t wait to see Prince Louis be christened!
