If you’re anything like me, just the thought of animal shelters brings you to tears. It’s heartbreaking to think about the fact that many of the dogs at these shelters are never adopted and never get the forever homes that they crave.

Some of the dogs in these shelters were loved at one time, but their owners could no longer take care of them. Others were horrifically abused during their lives and have never experienced love.

Benny is a shy pit bull who was likely to be put down when he was brought to Carson Animal Care Center in Gardena, California. The poor little dog was terrified, as he had no idea what the future held for him.

Benny had no idea that he was slated to be put down, so he passed his days greeting visitors as he eagerly tried to find someone to love. When nobody seemed willing to adopt him, however, Benny began to lose hope.

Then one day, Benny finally got the news he had been waiting for since he entered the shelter! At first, Benny was confused when a red leash was slipped around his neck. As soon as he leaves his cage, he realizes what’s happening, and what happens next will bring you to tears!
