Most people hope that we would be brave enough to take action if we see a crime being committed right before our very eyes, but when it comes to actually doing it in the moment, a lot of people would find themselves hesitating. That’s what makes what this gas station clerk did so amazing!

Manveer Komer was working the night shift at a gas station when he noticed a man walk in with a trembling woman. Manveer immediately felt like something wasn’t right about the pair, so he watched them closely as they walked around the convenience store.

The first thing they did was try to get cash out of the ATM, but they couldn’t seem to get any money out of it. Then, they walked up to the counter and the man tried to buy cigarettes with the woman’s credit card.

It was then that Manveer knew for sure that something was wrong. He could tell that the woman was terrified, as she was nervously shaking uncontrollably.

It turns out that Manveer was right, as the woman had been carjacked by the man that night. Since taking her prisoner, the man had driven her around to various ATMs forcing her to take out cash for him.

Manveer bravely told the woman to stay inside the store while he confronted her abductor.

“You come stand behind my back,” he told her. “I’ll help you, no problem.”

The man acted like he had a gun in his pocket, but once he saw that Manveer was not going to let him get away with the woman, he jumped into her car and sped away. Luckily, police later caught up to him and arrested him.

The entire harrowing ordeal was captured by the gas station’s surveillance cameras.

Manveer said he felt like he needed to act fast because if he didn’t, he thought that the man might have killed the woman. We can’t help but think that not many people could have been as brave and quick-thinking as Manveer was in this situation!
