When your wife and daughter leave town for an extended time, what is the first thing that pops into your mind? Do you relax on the couch with a cold drink, or do you jump into a huge remodeling project? For one dad and husband, his plans were much more than most men would ever be willing to attempt.

Dad Andrew took it upon himself to create the perfect crafting space for his daughter and wife Silvia while they were out of town. He documented the entire process from start to finish in a video as he transformed their basement into a craft space.

The amazing part? He did it in just 20 days. He says it was a ton of work, but with them gone he was able to work all hours of the night. A few finishing touches weren’t quite complete, but the surprise was still epic.

He says he still needed to add a small faucet and sink by the refrigerator and he needed to trim the edges of the tables. But the biggest part of the work was done, including the amazing walk-in closet where he had organized their crafting supplies for them.

The wood floor is beautiful and he painted the walls a cheery lime green. What mother-daughter duo wouldn’t want to hang out in this space and get their creative juices flowing? The hand-crafted tables with overhead lighting create perfect working areas for all types of crafts.

When it is finally time for the big reveal, dad catches it all on video too. The dogs sniff around and give their approval. Andrew’s daughter is next and she deems it “awesome!” Finally, his wife comes in and is stunned by the amazing transformation.

Andrew posted the time-lapse of the transformation and the big reveal on YouTube and people didn’t hesitate to tell him that he was deserving of some sort of Best Husband/Dad award. They thought he did an amazing job and his wife and daughter are truly blessed to have a hubby and dad like him.

The comments went on and on and many have even requested more videos detailing how he got certain parts of the job done so they can duplicate his work in their own spaces. Without a doubt, this is a man that obviously loves his daughter and his wife.
