Hearing their baby’s first word is something that all parents look forward to with great anticipation. Whether they want to admit it or not, each parent secretly hopes their child will address them with their first word by either saying “mama” or “dada.”

Once it became clear that his baby was getting ready to say his first word, the young dad in this video decided to take matters into his own hands to try and get his baby to say “dada” first, but his efforts ended up backfiring in a hilarious way!

As his wife filmed, the father grabbed a book called “Dada” and started reading it to his baby boy with a clear goal in mind. He flips through the pages as he begins to read and starts making various different animal noises. The first animal is a cow, so the father moves and then says “dada.” The mother thinks she’s simply recording a heartwarming father and son moment, but she has no idea that things are about to take a very funny turn!

Right when they’re at the end of the book and the father is about to make his last animal noise, his baby son looks at the camera and says one word that it seems like he’s been dying to get off his chest: “mama!” The mother and father can’t help but burst into laughter, as their son has completely taken them by surprise! This is definitely a video that this family will be laughing at for years to come!
