A family was recently surprised when they noticed that food kept disappearing from their refrigerator, and none of them could figure out who was taking it. Finally, the fed-up matriarch of the family decided to take action to try and track down the culprit once and for all, and their identity stunned everyone!

The mother set up a hidden camera near the refrigerator to catch whoever was stealing the food.

“We kept noticing food missing in the fridge, so we filmed the culprit in action,” she later explained when sharing the video on social media.

The hidden camera live-streamed the footage right to the woman’s iPhone, and she eagerly watched it to see if she could catch the culprit in action. She thought that it was likely one of her human family members who was secretly taking the food, which is why it came as a surprise when the culprit ended up being a furry four-legged felon!

It turns out that the family’s puppy had figured out how to open the refrigerator door and help himself to some treats. This family is going to have to get a lock for their refrigerator if they want to keep their food safe!

The footage has quickly gone viral, with social media users sharing their own stories of pets raiding their fridges.

“I had to buy fridge locks after my dogs ate a whole sealed block of cheese and bacon…packaging included,” one user wrote.

“We had a cat that could do this broke more baby locks than we can count even managed to get the door over a wooden wedge,” another added.

“We had a boxer who could open a fridge door, even when we put a rope round it and a spin drier in front of it!!!” a third social media user wrote.
