A heartwarming video is going viral showing an amazing act of kindness that a compassionate police officer does for an elderly man in need.

The video opens with a senior citizen slowly trying to walk across a crosswalk in Mianyang, Sichuan province in China. The other pedestrians rush across the crosswalk, leaving the elderly man behind. By the time the light turns green, the senior has only made it halfway across the crosswalk, leaving him stranded in the middle of the road as cars are about to speed through!

The cars stay where they are, indicating that they are willing to wait patiently for the man to cross, but he still has seven lanes left to go!

Just when it looks like this situation is about to get very dangerous, crossing guard Officer Qin Weijie runs up and asks the older man if he can help him cross. When the elderly man says yes, Qin shocks everyone by crouching down on his knees in front of him.

At first, it is not clear what exactly Qin is doing, but then he scoops up the senior and puts him on his back. The officer proceeds to give him a piggyback ride across the street to safety!

The heartwarming video has quickly gone viral and been viewed by people all over the world. It shows that helping others with acts of kindness can transcend all cultures!
