Samuel Bardwell is a 20-year-old college athlete who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder and severe anxiety. He takes Klonopin for his condition, but was unable to get his medication for two days because he couldn’t get to the pharmacy before it closed.

This resulted in his condition getting so bad that he collapsed during a basketball practice after suffering a panic attack. He was rushed to El Maino Hospital in Los Gatos, California, where his dad met him. They assumed he would get professional medical attention, but what he received was anything but professional.

His coach, Scott Eitelgeorge said that Sam didn’t look good and was having a severe anxiety attack. The coach reported that Sam played for about five minutes before he had to step outside. Outside the weight room he collapsed in the grass. The coach says they tried to help him up but he fell back down. That’s when they called paramedics.

At the hospital Sam and his father were harassed and humiliated by Dr. Beth Keegstra. Luckily, Sam’s father caught the incident on film and Keegstra has now been suspended for her unprofessional treatment of Sam.

She made Sam wait a ridiculous amount of time before even examining Sam while she was outside laughing and talking with her co-workers. Then when she did examine Sam, she was rude, physically abusive, and refused to give him anxiety medication. You can clearly hear and see it all on the video.

Keegstra can be seen making fun of Sam for claiming he can’t breath and then aggressively yanking on his arm and telling him that he’s “full of shit.” Luckily, one nurse was nice enough to do a drug test to confirm there were no drugs in Sam’s system and they ended up giving  him fluids, supplements, and pain medication.

Sam says they even brought in a security guard at one point even though he did nothing wrong. He says he never raised his voice and was never aggressive. He says he didn’t have the ability to be aggressive even if he would have wanted to.

Hospital CEO Dan Woods said that the hospital is taking the matter very seriously and has removed the contracted physician from their work schedule pending investigation. He further stated that the hospital is saddened by the care that Sam received and is working to ensure an incident like this never happens again.
