A hilarious video is going viral this week showing just how clever dogs can really be!

Bleu and Colby are two golden retrievers who love their life with their owner Chris Cardinal and his wife. Fifteen months ago, the dogs got a big surprise when their owners brought home a new little addition to their family, a baby girl named Chloe.

Colby bonded with Chloe immediately, but Bleu took a bit more time to get close with her. However, once he realized that Chloe could be a meal ticket for him, Bleu latched on to her pretty quickly!

The dogs had a much easier time persuading Chloe to give them treats than they did with her parents. After hatching their plan, the dogs put it into action one night at 6.a.m., and the family’s nanny-cam captured the entire thing!

Chris and his wife caught onto what was happening when they found Chloe standing outside their bedroom door one morning. How she got out of her room was a mystery to them, since she is too small to reached the door handle, so her parents checked the nanny cam to see what happened. They couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the footage!

“They definitely knew what they were doing,” Chris said. “They start getting real hungry around 6 a.m., and instead of barking outside our room, I think they figured they’d try the baby. They’ve snuck into her room before overnight once, but not for breakfast. (At the time, she wasn’t walking yet.) So this is the first time it effected a prison break.”

Though Chris now knows what this trio is up to, he wouldn’t trade the friendship the three have for the world.

“Chloe wakes up every morning and asks to see ‘puppeh’. She has to go give them their pets each morning. They teach her how to be gentle with animals, socialization, etc. — and also how to get back up when they knock her over, which happens from time to time,” he said.

The only problem Chris and his wife are now facing is whether they want to move forward with their plans to have a second baby. They’re already outnumbered by these three, so having another baby could just make things worse for them!

“We’re second-guessing having another baby, for sure,” Chris joked.
