If you were one of the lucky ones to get to try cotton candy grapes last year then you know how big of a deal it is that these tasty grapes are back. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy this delicious fruit and now they’re available at stores nationwide for a limited time.

Cotton candy grapes are a variety of green grapes that taste just like the spun sugar treat you find at amusement parks, fairs, and carnivals. But rest assured, these are much better for you. The taste is achieved via natural means and careful cross breeding. There is no artificial flavoring or added junk.

Because of the careful breeding requirements, these cotton candy grapes aren’t yet widely grown and are only available for a limited time each year. There are two purveyors of these fine fruits, Arizona-based Divine Flavor, and California-based Grapery.

Grapery’s cotton candy grapes are available between August 10 and September 20 and Divine Flavors’ cotton candy grapes are available right now. Divine Farms sells their cotton candy grapes in two, three, and 16 pound packages and can be found at Costco, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Publix, Kroger, Safeway, Raley’s Supermarkets, Fresh Market, and Target.

Divine Flavors’ also produces other specialty grape varieties including Wow! Sweet Grapes (picked at the time when they are most sweet and scrumptious), Gummyberries (bright red grapes that taste like gummy snacks), and Jellyberries (dark purple grapes that taste just like concord grape jam).

The Grapery also grows other specialty grapes including Gum Drops which are small purple grapes that have a luscious sweet candy-like flavor. These are available September 1 through September 30. And Moon Drops are a deep purple, uniquely shaped grapes that have a “flavor that eclipses almost any other grape” according to the Grapery. They are available July 20 to November 1.

When you can find fruit that tastes this good and so much like candy, who needs to eat the candy that’s not good for you. This is a perfectly wholesome way to make your summer healthy and sweet!
