1. Clean Your Broom – All of us have used our brooms to clean up some really dirty messes. After you’ve used your broom, it needs a good cleaning too. Simply soak the end of your broom in a bucket of soapy water for an hour then rinse and hang to dry.

2. Clean Your Exhaust Fan – One of the places we all seem to forget to clean is our exhaust fan, so lots of dirt builds up there. To clean it off just buy a can of air and shoot it into the exhaust fan. This will clean out all of the dust that has accumulated.

3. Clean Your Iron – Sometimes wrinkles in clothing can be caused by using a dirty iron. To clean that dirt off, place your hot iron on a pile of salt and swirl it around a few times. This will leave your old dirty iron looking shiny and new.

4. Clean Your Couch – One of the most used pieces of furniture in a home is the couch, that’s why you should clean your couch thoroughly from time to time. Sprinkle a coat of baking soda on the surface and let is sit for 20 minutes then vacuum it up. This will take out any stains and leave your couch smelling clean and fresh.

5. Clean Rusty Cutlery – Unfortunately, cutlery gets rusty and dirty over time. To keep it clear of rust, place your cutlery in a container that has equal parts warm water and lemon juice. Soak for about ten minutes then wipe off for a beautiful shine.

6. Clean Baseboards – This is one area of the house that dust seems to latch on to. To clean your baseboards and keep them from gathering dust so quickly, simply wipe them down with a fabric softener sheet.

7. Clean Liquid Messes – We’ve all dropped something on the floor from time to time. If the spill happens on a hard surface, pour some flour on it. This will make the liquid clumpy and easier to clean up.

8. Keep Your Shoes White – Keeping white shoes looking clean and new is a struggle. But fret no more! The next time your shoes get dirty pick up some nail polish remover. Place the nail polish remover on a cotton ball and rub the dirty area of your shoes. The white will reappear in no time.

9. Safely Clean Broken Glass – If glass shards spread across your floor, don’t panic. Grab a slice of bread and press it on top of the broken glass. This will protect your hands and pick up even the tiniest pieces of glass.

10. Remove Scum From Your Shower Head – A dirty shower head is never fun to clean. One way to get rid of the scum that forms on your shower head is to tie a bag filled with white vinegar around it. Leave it overnight and the next morning your showerhead will be sparkling like its new.

11. Clean Your Blinds – Cleaning blinds can be a quite the chore and consequently, we tend to overlook cleaning the area as often as we should. To clean your blinds quickly and easily use a paintbrush and brush it along the blinds.

12. Get Rid of Rust on Cookware – When rust appears on our cookware, it’s easy to just throw it away, but this cleaning hack means you won’t have to do that ever again. When rust starts forming, just scrub it with vinegar until the rust comes off. Then put oil on the cookware and place it in the oven at 350 degrees for an hour. This will ensure the rust vanishes.

13. Get Rid of Pet Hair – If you own a pet inside your home, you know that pet hair gets all over your house and it’s hard to get rid of it when you clean. Next time, get a pair of rubber gloves and dampen them with water. Just go around the house and wipe your gloves over the pet hair and watch it disappear.

14. Clean Kids Toys – If you have children, you’ll never have to take extra time to clean them again. Next time they need a good cleaning simply put them in the dishwasher. It will sanitize the toys and make them look new again.

15. Clean Sponges – Cleaning sponges carry a lot of germs and bacteria. Instead of spending money on buying a new one, simply place your sponge in the microwave for one minute. This will sanitize them and make them ready to use again.

16. Clean a Ceiling Fan – Instead of using a duster to clean your ceiling fan, place a pillowcase over the blade and then pull the case towards you. The dust and dirt will stay inside the pillow case instead of getting it all over the floor and furniture below.

17. Vacuum Clean Small Spaces – Not all vacuums are made to get into the small spaces of our home. To make an attachment that will reach the small places, just place an empty toilet paper or paper towel roll inside the end and squeeze it to the size you need.

18. Get Rid of Scuff Marks – If you have a wooden floor or furniture you know that scuff marks happen. To get rid of them, create a mixture of 1/4 parts vinegar to 3/4 parts olive or vegetable oil. Dip a cloth into the mixture and scrub away the scuff marks.

19. Keep Earbuds Clean – We all have earwax and that wax can get into our earbuds. Use a toothbrush to get into the creases of the earbud and then wipe them down with a clean cloth. This will get all of the dirt and grime off those earbuds.

20. Create a Reusable Swiffer – Swiffers are a great invention, but having to buy wipes for them all the time can get costly. To save money, simply attach a sock or slipper to the brooms end. When you’re done using it, you can just toss it in the wash and it’s ready to go again.

21. Get Rid of Window Streaks – When we clean our windows there are often streaks left behind. To solve this problem, simply crumple up a newspaper and slide it against the window. Your windows will be streak free and sparkling in no time.

22. Clean Your Keyboard – You might not think of cleaning your keyboard with slime, but it works really well. The next time you get dust and crumbs in your keyboard, grab some slime. Place it on top of the keyboard then watch it dip into the spaces on the keyboard. When you remove it you’ll be amazed at how much dirt latched onto the slime.

23. Leave Your Microwave Smelling Fresh – If you want to clean the funky smell out of your microwave simply place a dish filled with 1/4 cup of vinegar, a bit of water and a few lemon slices inside. Then cook for three to four minutes. After the timer goes off, leave the microwave closed for ten more minutes. When you remove the dish, wipe down the inside of the microwave.

24. Remove Cutting Board Stains – Cutting food on your cutting board can leave behind stains. To get rid of them, place salt on your cutting board, cut a lemon in half, and rub the cut side of the lemon against the salt. Rinse the cutting board and watch the stains disappear.
