When a teenage girl named Kinley headed to a concert with a friend on a cold Virginia night, she decided to leave her jacket at home as many young people do. She had no idea that this small move would backfire on her after the concert ended.

In the chaos that ensued as people flooded out of the concert, Kinley found herself separated from her friend. This was particularly bad since the friend had Kinley’s phone, keys, and wallet. Having no idea what to do, Kinley came upon a bus stop and decided to wait there.

Dressed only in a tank top in sub-zero temperatures and alone at night, Kinley looked terrified as she sat shivering at the bus stop. Luckily for her, that’s when a local mother named Felicia happened to pass the bus stop and see her.

Felicia’s motherly instincts kicked in right away when she saw the stranded teen, and she immediately gave the girl her jacket off her back to keep her warm. She then waited for the bus Kinley needed to get home to come and put the teen on it before talking the bus driver into letting her ride for free, and sending Kinley on her way.

Kinley and Felicia exchanged only their names and nothing more, but once she was home safe, the teenager knew she had to find the fairy godmother who had saved her.

“I completely forgot to give this woman her coat back and give her the sincere thanks and utmost gratitude she deserves,” Kinley wrote on Facebook. “This woman without knowing a single thing about me showed great generosity, compassion and humanity. I have to find this woman and I won’t give up until I do.”
