At 92 years of age, Queen Elizabeth has a lot to be thankful for. Not only is she the longest-serving monarch in British history, she also has a marriage that has lasted 70 years, four children, and eight grandchildren.
With the birth of Prince Louis Arthur Charles last month, the Queen also has six great grandchildren, and a seventh one is due in the coming weeks!
Though all six of her great grandchildren are descended from the Queen, only three of them are actually royal, while the other three are commoners! To help you understand why this is, we’re going to take a look at all six of the great grandchildren.
Savannah Phillips
At 7 years-old, Savannah is the Queen’s oldest great-grandchild, and she is the granddaughter of Princess Anne. She is the daughter of Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn Kelly, and she does not have a royal title because her father does not have one.
When Peter was born, the Queen offered to give him a title, but his parents Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips declined because they did not want a title to interfere with his future career. As a result, his daughter Savannah lives a normal life in London as a commoner.
Isla Phillips
Isla, 6, is Savannah’s younger sister and does not have a title for the same reason.
Mia Tindall
Mia is the daughter of Zara Phillips, the only daughter of Princess Anne, and former rugby player Mike Tindall. Anne also decided not to have Zara be given a royal title, which means Mia does not have one either.
Mia is an only child as of now, but she won’t be for long, as Zara is expecting a baby!
Prince George
Not only is Prince George a royal, he is also a future king of England! At 4 years-old, he is the oldest of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children and is currently third in line for the throne.
Princess Charlotte
Princess Charlotte just turned 3 and is the second child of Prince William and Kate Middleton. With the birth of her little brother Louis, Charlotte made history by becoming the first female royal to keep her spot at fourth in line for the throne despite having a younger brother thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013.
Prince Louis
Born on April 23, this little guy is just getting started as a royal! While he is too little to attend the wedding of his uncle Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, we will certainly be seeing a lot more of him as he gets older!
Whether they are royal or not, Queen Elizabeth has a lot to be proud of when it comes to her great-grandchildren! SHARE this story so your family and friends can see these kids as well!
