Life for 7-year-old Hailey McGregor hasn’t been very easy the past seven months. Her mother welcomed a new baby brother into the family making her a big sister. As if adding to the family wasn’t enough of a change, her dad, an officer for the United States Navy, has been deployed over seas.

Hailey wasn’t used to her dad not being around, so all of the drastic changes had been quite a big adjustment for her. Trying to keep her mind off of things, she kept busy going to school and being a cheerleader.

One particular night though, Hailey was at a football game getting ready to cheer. To her it was just like every other game, that is until she heard an announcement over the loud speaker.

It takes Hailey just a few minutes before she realized that the name they had announced was very familiar to her. The announcer had welcomed her father to the game and thanked him for his service overseas. Hailey’s dad was there and she didn’t know where to turn to find him.

She ran to her mom at the sidelines who points her towards her father at the end of the field. Within seconds, Hailey runs towards her dad and jumps into his arms with tears streaming down her face.

The crowd breaks out into cheers while the tears and smiles that Hailey and her dad share speak volumes to everyone lucky enough to watch their happy reunion.

The reunion completely takes Hailey by surprise and it is one that she and her family, as well as everyone who got to watch the reunion take place, aren’t likely to forget anytime soon.
