When 15 year-old Sam Keith grabbed the microphone to perform the national anthem at Nashoba Regional High School in Massachusetts, nobody expected him to have a voice like this!

It may have been a surprise to some at the beginning of the video when Sam, in his football uniform, steps up to the microphone to sing the national anthem. After all, most football players are known more for their athletic abilities than their artistic prowess. All of Sam’s friends, however, know that he loves singing and acting just as much as he loves football.

From the second Sam opens his mouth, it’s clear that this teenager has quite a unique gift. The notes Sam is singing sound as if they are coming from someone who is at least two or three times his age!

This video shows why we should never judge a book by it’s cover. Many would look at Sam and assume that he is a jock who may make fun of the “theater kids” at his school. Instead, Sam is BOTH a talented football star AND a talented singer in his school’s theater program. Someone like Sam can’t be put in a box and labelled easily.

We applaud Sam for taking the time to share his gift with the world by performing our country’s beautiful national anthem. When watching the video below, it’s hard not to get a tear in your eye as you listen to Sam’s patriotic and majestic words! This young man is definitely going far in life!
