Being a single parent isn’t exactly the easiest job. Having to be both mom and dad while juggling your duties as an adult can be flat out hard. Whether you’re a single dad or a single mom, it’s likely that you’d do anything to put a smile on your little one’s face.

When one single dad took his daughter out to dinner, he never expected to experience something that would make his day, maybe even his entire week. For Valentine’s dinner, he took his six-year-old daughter out to dinner. They laughed, talked, and giggled. The father-daughter duo had an amazing time.

Unbeknownst to the dad, the giggly group in the corner had caught the attention of another couple in the restaurant. They had been watching the father interact with his little girl and couldn’t help but appreciate the love they saw in the dad’s eyes as he celebrated the day with his little girl.

As the couple watching the pair got up to leave the restaurant, they slipped a note onto the table that read, “Hi there! Sorry to spy, but my husband and I saw you out with your little date and were so impressed with what a great dad you are. From two adults who grew up without dads, it’s so important to have a male role model at a young age. Keep up the good work dad! Dinner is on us!”

The father couldn’t believe what he was reading and was brought to tears by the couple’s kind actions. They left no name and no signature on the note so he had no way to thank them. While their actions might seem like a small token of kindness, it meant the world to the single father.
