As parents we try our best to protect our children and keep them safe from the dangers of the outside world. When Milissa Davis noticed that her son Camden was acting out and having problems wetting the bed at night, she knew something was terribly wrong.

Milissa’s 12-year-old son, Camden, is autistic and struggles with every day things that we take for granted. He has trouble writing, reading, and speaking. Still, Milissa says she can’t imagine life without the sweet little boy.

When Camden began acting aggressive and wetting the bed at night, Milissa was worried that something was going on at school that was upsetting her son. The behaviors weren’t normal for Camden. Milissa devised a plan to see what was going on at school, and she was horrified to finally know the truth.

Milissa placed a recording device inside Camden’s backpack and sent him off to school at Hope Academy where he’d been going for years. The school specialized in caring for children with special needs and Milissa had every reason to believe that Camden had always been in good hands, but this time, she was wrong.

When Camden returned home from school, Milissa listened to the recordings on the device and was devastated with what she heard. The teacher bullied Camden and asked him why his work wasn’t done and said things like, “You’re just writing the word. What’s so hard about that?”

The teacher also laughed at Camden and said he never would have made it at public school. Milissa was heartbroken and furious at what she heard and immediately went to the school with the recording.

She shared the recording with officials at Hope Academy, and within days, the two teachers on the recording were fired. Camden was finally free from the abuse. No child with special needs, or any child for that matter, ever deserves to be treated the way Camden was treated.
