It really is true that dogs are a man’s best friend. While all dogs are adorable, huskies have a look that is all their own. They have shaggy fur and piercing blue eyes. They tend to be pretty serious looking dogs and demand lots of physical activity. They like to play rough with other big dogs. For these reasons, people tend to worry about how they would react with a small child.

This concern isn’t unjustified. Just look at their size compared to a small child. With one swift move, they could easily hurt a child. But as you will see in the video, these creatures also have a gentle side to them. This particular husky obviously knows that babies need to be handled with tender, loving care, and he’s happy to do his part.

In the video, you can see the little tot clumsily crawling closer and closer to the big dog as he lays quietly on the floor, but obviously aware of what is creeping up on him. Still, he lies perfectly still and lets the curious baby approach him. It’s only when the baby reaches out to grab an ear that the husky reacts.

The big furry critter doesn’t react the way you might think though, instead of running away or attacking, the husky rolls over submissively and lets the baby start pulling, tugging, and climbing about anywhere the baby desires.

The husky gently brushes at the baby’s little hands and dishes out plenty of big sloppy dog kisses, all to the baby’s obvious delight. The camera man recording the entire scene laughs at the sight while keeping an eye on things to make sure that things don’t get too rough.

The submissive position and actions of the husky prove, however, that the adults in the room don’t have anything to worry about. This husky obviously has no intention of harming the baby in any way. Instead, it looks like he is enjoying the company of the littlest member of his pack.
