There’s nothing quite like seeing a creature give birth and watching a baby experience life for the very first time. It’s particularly special to watch a pet give birth, and Mark and Elaine Cooper know all too well what that experience is like!

The Coopers were overjoyed when their beloved dog Millie gave birth to a litter of puppies recently. Right before their eyes, Millie transformed into a responsible mother who would do whatever it took to protect her young. The Coopers could not have been more proud of her!

Right after Millie gave birth, Mark and Elaine carefully inspected her puppies, and each one seemed healthy to them. When they looked at the last little puppy, however, they realized there was something very different about this one.

“We were a bit shocked, then laughed and thought, ‘Oh my, is it okay?'” Elaine said.

Much to their surprise, the Coopers found that one of the puppies had been born GREEN! No, we’re not kidding!

Experts say that though this is extremely rare, puppies can be born green in some cases. This happens when light-colored puppies come into contact with a substance called Biliverdin, which is found in the placenta.

The Coopers ended up naming the dog Fifi, after Princess Fiona from the “Shrek” movies! How perfect is that?!
