Just days after Barbara Bush passed away, her son Neil Bush was pleased to announce the birth of the Bush family’s newest addition. He welcomed his grandson on April 19.

Neil is the son of Barbara and George H.W. Bush and his newest addition is the eighth great-grandchild of Barbara and the former President of the United States.

Max Walker Lauren weighed 7 pounds and 8 ounces and is the son of Lauren Bush Lauren and her husband David Lauren. David is the chief innovations officer of the Ralph Lauren Corp. The couple have another son, two-year-old James.

While announcing his grandson’s birth, Neil thanked everyone for the well wishes and memories that have been shared with the Bush family since the loss of his mother.

He says she was a wonderful woman that lived a remarkable life, blessed her family, and was loved by everyone. He says the family was able to spend plenty of time with her before her passing.

Barbara was surrounded by family and holding her beloved husband’s hand when she passed away. Just like everything she did, she even died on her own terms.
