Who doesn’t like to belt out an old fashioned tune every once in a while? The little song bird in this video is no exception. With a little prodding from her family, this little sweetheart obviously enjoys every minute she’s singing a very popular old swing tune. Listen for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Everyone has heard of Frank Sinatra and most of us are familiar with the catchy songs he became famous for. One of those is “Fly Me to the Moon”, and this little girl loves the song that hit the charts well before she was even born.

Five-year-old Sophie Fatu’s impressive performance of the swing song will melt your heart. Although familiar with Sinatra’s version that Sophie sings, the song has a long history and numerous renditions.

The song was first written by Bart Howard in 1954 and was originally titled “In Other Words.” A few short months after its original release, Kaye Ballard released her version of the hit song. The tune gained popularity in jazz clubs around the U.S. until it was heard by one particular singer that would take it to new heights.

When famous musician Frank Sinatra first heard the catchy tune, he knew he had to try his hand at it. He renamed the song to “Fly Me to the Moon” and within weeks of his release it was topping the charts. Sinatra’s rendition of the song is the most popular version still today, with even youngsters like Sophie picking up the hit swing song.

Sophie went to the recording studio at the prompting of her family. Before the song begins, Sophie casts a shy glance towards the camera, but when the music starts playing it’s obvious that she’s sang the song before.

With each beat Sophie becomes more confident and her voice will melt your heart. By the end of the song she’s dancing to the beat and smiling ear to ear. I’ll bet if you listen to the video, this little performer will have you smiling and dancing to the tune.
