Jason Yoshino and his wife were waiting in line to check out at Walmart when they saw something that reminded them that there is still good in the world!

Jason noticed that the young mother ahead of him in line had a shopping cart full of groceries, including four huge boxes of diapers, the 148-count ones. It was these diapers that brought the line to a halt, as the cashier needed a price check on them.

An older lady who was in line right behind the mom appeared to grow frustrated with the wait and moved to an aisle with a shorter checkout line. The mother was visibly embarrassed, as she assumed the woman had been mad that she was holding up the rest of the line, but she quickly learned she was dead wrong.

Things got worse for the mom when the cashier returned and informed her that the items were “higher priced,” so she could not match the price on all four boxes. Defeated, the mother sheepishly set three of the boxes aside. That’s when the elderly woman who had left the line suddenly returned, picked up the three boxes, and did something Jason and the rest of the line never saw coming.

Jason was so stunned by what he saw happening that he whipped out his phone so he could record it and post the footage on Facebook.

“Out of no where, the older lady comes back through and sees the girl was only buying 1 of the 4 cases of diapers,” Jason wrote. “The older gal grabs all the cases and proceeds to put them in the cart as you can see in the video that where it starts.”

It turns out that the elderly woman had once been in the mother’s shoes, and knowing how expensive it can be to be a young mom, she wanted to pay for her diapers to make her day a little easier!

“At the end, the girl thanks her. The older gal tells her to pay it forward someday. My wife and I were speechless at this warmhearted and kind act of generosity,” Jason continued. “There are some amazing people in this world. What a way to end such a beautiful day to witness such an amazing act of kindness. To whomever the older lady that helped this young girl, I hope this finds you. Thank you and God bless you.”

What an amazing act of kindness! This serves as a reminder that if we all try to do something nice for someone else every day, we really can make the world a better place!
