Bob Barker is known as the legendary television personality who hosted “The Price Is Right” for decades. He is also known for being an animal lover and a World War II veteran, but recently, his fans learned that he is a devoted husband as well.

Barker’s wife Dorothy Jo Gideon passed away 36 long years ago at the age of 67 after a battle with lung cancer. Barker has stayed loyal to her ever since, and on the anniversary of her death, he did something that shows just how much he truly loves his wife.

Barker and Gideon met at an Ella Fitzgerald concert when they were just 15 years-old, and they immediately fell in love. They eloped in 1945 and both got jobs in the entertainment industry, with Gideon making a living singing commercial jingles. Like her husband, she was also passionate about animal rights.

“She was ahead of her time. She really was. She stopped wearing fur coats before anyone was stopping,” Barker told Good Morning America in 2007. “She became a vegetarian before people were becoming vegetarian. And I gradually did the same thing with her.”

When Gideon passed away in 1981, Barker insisted he had no plans to remarry.

“She was my wife,” he said.

On the anniversary of Gideon’s death this past fall, Barker was spotted paying a visit to her grave with a caregiver. Barker spent about 20 minutes at her grave, cleaning it and leaving flowers for her while also taking time to reflect on the time they spent together.

The gesture shows how much he loves Gideon and how loyal he’s been to her though she died many years ago.

God bless you, Bob Barker!
