Triplets Macey, Mackenzie, and Madeline made headlines when they were born, as two of them were conjoined. Now, photos of them have come out 16 years later, and the public can’t believe what they look like today!

Sadly, the triplets were born to two parents who had a drug problem and were not able to take care of them adequately. California couple Darla and Jeff Garrison decided to adopt the three girls, even though they already had three teenage boys of their own.

“We had no idea what to expect – but they only needed someone who loved them. We got Madeline when she was four days old and Macey and Mackenzie came to us after four weeks,” Darla recalled.

The Garrisons had aways wanted daughters to complete their family, and the triplets immediately fit right in with them.

“We’d fallen in love with them. Our boys were so happy to have three sisters,” Darla said.

Macey and Mackenzie were successfully separated in a 2003 surgery. Once joined at the pelvis, they now each use a prosthetic leg to get around in place of the leg they previously shared.

The girls have overcome their disabilities and now live the lives of normal teenagers.

“When they encounter something they can’t do,” Darla said, “they don t dwell on it too long.”

“The girls have succeeded through hard work and the commitment by their family. Their progression is wonderful and inspiring,” says Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Pediatric Surgeon James Stein, the doctor who performed the girls’ surgery.

God bless these triplets for overcoming the obstacles they have faced in life. We can’t wait to see these girls take the world by storm!
