A chronic cough is one ailment that can have staying power, and it can be notoriously difficult to beat.

The only real treatment that is out there for a bad cough is cough syrup, but this medicine can take days to actually remedy the illness.

Making matters worse, syrups often lead to other physical problems, including headaches, migraines and insomnia.

That’s why we were overjoyed to find a new hack that can treat a bad cough overnight!

It turns out that all you need to get rid of your cough is a ginger wrap, the ingredients of which are:

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger or ginger powder
  • raw honey
  • olive oil
  • flour
  • napkins
  • adhesive tape
  • gauze

First, mix the honey and flour before adding in the olive oil and the ginger.

Mix these ingredients well and then place them on a napkin, and cover and seal with a gauze.

Once you have done this, put the wrap on your bare chest and use adhesive tape to secure it to your body. If you are using this wrap on a child, hold the wrap on them for around three hours before going to sleep.

If you are using this on an adult, he or she can use the wrap overnight as they sleep. However, we must warn you that ginger activates the endocrine system, meaning you will likely sweat profusely.

By the next morning, you will likely wake up cough-free, as the ginger will have removed the mucus from your lungs! It really is that simple!

Rachel Lim, a young mother decided to try this out herself when her son came down with a bad cough.

She switched things up a little bit by using tin foil instead of a gauze and coconut oil instead of olive oil, but it still worked for her like a charm!

After just four hours of wearing the wrap, her son was cured!
