Being a surgeon is one of the most stressful jobs in the world, and staying positive when faced with so many tragic situations can be very difficult. However, a new video is going viral this week showing the unique way two top surgeons manage to keep a positive attitude at their hospital.

Dr. Elvis Francois and Dr. William Robinson are both Orthopedic Surgery at the internationally renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The doctors are in the midst of completing their residencies, which is the most exhausting and anxiety-ridden time in a doctor’s life.

For new doctors going through residency, they often have demanding work hours and shifts, endure extreme fatigue and stress, and sadly, burnout can be prevalent. Elvis and William, however, seem to have what it takes to remain focused on what’s truly important and the reason why they’re doctors to begin with: helping their patients.

A new viral video shows these two amazing doctors taking a break from surgeries at the hospital to sing a song! Watch as they sing a soulful ballad written by singer/songwriter Mike Yung. As William plays the piano, Elvis sings with a hauntingly beautiful voice. The lyrics are incredibly moving and are sure to provide “music therapy” for those who need it most.

“When you’re feeling low
And there’s no one around
When it looks like it’s over
And life’s got you down
Hold on to me brother
I’ll be there when you need
Because there’s a brighter tomorrow…
This I truly believe
Everything———Everything
Everything is gonna be alright
So dry those eyes….it’ll be….alright….”

As he shared the video, Elvis said that his former mentor gave him a piece of advice that was on his mind the day he sang the song.

“Before he retired the legendary Dr. Franklin Sim once told me, ‘As a surgeon, it is your responsibility to bear the burden of worry with your patients,’” Elvis said. “As health care providers we often meet people at their greatest time of need. And sometimes the best gift you can give is a simple reminder that everything will be alright.”

These two are clearly amazing doctors, and their patients are lucky to have them! SHARE this story so we can help spread their message of positivity to the world!
