Native Americans have a long respected history with the United States military that many people don’t know about.

This Marine in his dress blues, who obviously has a strong Native American history, joins in a sacred war dance and shocks the people in attendance when he knows all the right moves.

Dancing alongside another Native American in an ornate headdress and costume, the Marine joins right in step for step at the Iowa Nation Pow Wow.

The Marine obviously knows all the steps and turns by heart.

Native Americans played an important part in U.S. military history and were known as Code Talkers.

During both world wars, the Native Americans played a vital role by using their native language to pass along secret messages that other countries couldn’t understand.

These Native Americans were able to get messages around the world in a way that no one else was able to do before them.

The role they played in getting these messages around the world and to U.S. allies was vital to the success of the military.

Just like the Marine in this dance, the brave Native American men and women of the U.S. military should be respected and honored for the sacrifices they have, and continue to make, for our country.

In this video, you can see this usually uptight Marine break loose and join in an ancient tradition that is still obviously important to him.

You’ll be amazed at the beauty and grace he and the other dancers display.
