Fans are in shock this week after seeing what has become of one of the 1970s’ most dashing Hollywood leading men.

Burt Reynolds has had a career that has spanned well over 40 years, and he originally rose to fame in large part because of his rugged good looks. Reynolds got his start as a college football star, but an injury derailed an NFL dream and sent him off to Hollywood, where he immediately found success.

Reynolds quickly became a Hollywood A-list hunk and dated such legendary stars as Farrah Fawcett and Goldie Hawn. He was also known for doing his own stunts in his films, regardless of how dangerous they were.

The actor has admitted in recent years that walking has become increasingly painful. “I did all my own stunts, which is why I can’t walk very well now,” he said. “At certain times in the morning, I regret [my decision to do stunts], trying to get out of bed.”

At age 82, it appears that Reynolds’ years of playing football and doing major stunts has caught up with him and has taken a toll on his body. The Hollywood icon was just spotted at John F. Kennedy International Airport looking extremely frail, walking in a hunched position using a cane.

Reynolds was in New York to promote his new film “The Last Movie Star,” but his interviews quickly took a strange turn as it became clear that Reynolds’ mental state has deteriorated a bit. Things got awkward during a Today show interview in which Reynolds complimented host Hoda Kotb on her lips. Bizarrely, Reynolds told Kotb that he was “so proud of you for not having your lips larger.”

“Okay, Burt,” she responded, laughing uncomfortably.

We do hope this legendary actor gets better and will overcome the health issues he is facing! Please keep Burt Reynolds in your thoughts and prayers!
