There is nothing stronger than the love a mother has for her child. This love between mother and child is something that virtually all species share, as we all are designed to want to do anything to protect our young.

A new viral video proves once and for all that maternal love is just as strong in the animal world as it is in the human world!

When a group of villagers noticed a female elephant frantically digging in the ground, they immediately wanted to know what she was looking for. Witnesses told them that the elephant had been walking past an open well with her baby when the child fell in, causing the mother to become absolutely frantic.

Refusing to give up on her baby, the mother desperately began digging in an attempt to save her little one. The poor mother had no idea that every move she was making was actually causing MORE dirt to fall on her baby. Though her motives were heroic, the mother was inadvertently only making things worse!

The villagers wanted to help, but they also feared that the mother elephant would charge them out of fear if they got near the well. Thinking fast, one villager grabbed a loaded banana cart and wheeled it close enough to the mother to distract her. The plan worked, and as soon as the mother turned away, the villagers rushed in and removed the dirt she had accidentally thrown in the hole.

With the dirt out of the way, the mother was finally able to pull her baby out of the well with her trunk! The video ends with the reunited mother and child walking away happily as the baby enjoys a well-earned drink of milk!

This video serves as a reminder that you can never underestimate the love a mother has for her baby! SHARE this story so your family and friends can see it as well!
