High school and collegiate dance competitions are fiercely competitive, but the high kick division of the competitions seems to the part of the contests that leave spectators in awe at the moves and choreography of the dancers. This 2017 dance by the Carroll High School Emerald Belles left the crowd shocked and impressed.

Kick lines must be strong and accurate with toes pointed and postures perfectly aligned. The competitions are strenuous and the girls that compete are typically in tip top shape when performing. Although they are smiling when the kick routine has been performed well and is over, the routines leave the athletes breathless.

The state of Texas is known for having some of the most impressive dance competitions and outrageous kick routines from both the high school and college levels. In the video below, the Emerald Belles perform in Southlake, Texas, and leave the crowd roaring.

They perform their routine to the song “Sweet Dreams” at a regional high school dance competition. The routine begins with the dancers at various levels with one dancer elevated in a spinning star lift. The choreography of the routine is astounding.

Their routine is visually stunning and continually changes shapes to include circles, triangles, and squares, while also performing amazing, leg raising kick line routines. The end of the routine includes a prop that you wouldn’t expect in a competition like this. See for yourself what an amazing routine these ladies performed.
