A video is going viral this week showing an adorable bond between a cat and a little baby.

Lemise the cat has been with his owner for many years, and he has always shared a close bond with her. Because of this, she was a bit worried that Lemise would get jealous of the new addition to her family when she became pregnant with her first child. After her baby was born, however, she quickly realized she had nothing to worry about.

“Cats want a lot of affection, but babies need it even more,” the caption accompanying the video reads. “That’s why a cat might get jealous when there’s a new child in the house. However, Lemise adores his new buddy and comes running every time he makes a sound. This adorable video shows the beginning of their precious friendship.”

The video begins with Lemise sniffing the baby’s head before he starts licking it affectionately. The cat appears to be grooming the baby as if he is one of his own kittens!

The baby looks up at the cat at one point as he tries to figure out what is going on, but he quickly puts his head back down as he does not want the licking to stop! The baby holds onto the cat’s paw as Lemise keeps licking his head, showing that the two have just begun a beautiful friendship. How cute is that?!
