In a world that seems to be so negative, it’s nice to hear a good story every once in a while. This story about a good samaritan has gone viral and it’s easy to see why. We all still like to know that there are good people in the world.
Last June Casey Spelman, 26, had been visiting Wrigleyville, Chicago. She and her friends had attended a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, but what happened afterward is what’s catching everyone’s attention.
When she was leaving, Casey noticed a blind man, later identified as Yusef Dale, an assistant U.S. attorney in Chicago. He was holding a walking stick and waving his hand in an attempt to hail a taxi. Unfortunately, he wasn’t having much luck.

Casey decided to step in and help the man. She walked up to him and asked him if he was trying to hail and cab and asked if he’d like some help. He said yes and that he’d appreciate the help. She took his arm and guided him closer to the curb and begin hailing a cab for him.
Within a few minutes they managed to get a cab and he asked her for a hug and told her thank you before they went on their own separate ways. The next day, Casey woke up to see photos of her good deed that were going viral online.

It turns out that a man named Ryan Hamilton had been on a rooftop bar and witnessed the event. It touched him to see such a kind gesture and he snapped a few photos to give her a shout out on social media. Although Ryan admits that it was obvious she wasn’t doing it for the attention, she simply was trying to help the man.
The photos have been shared thousands of times and people have loved her story of kindness. People have stated that they wish more people would share that type of kindness and said that she is an example of what America is supposed to stand for.
