Most people think of prison inmates as hardcore individuals, but that doesn’t mean they can’t show emotion like everybody else!

A group of senior citizens recently travelled to Hampshire County Jail to sing the prison inmates a song, and nobody could have predicted the reaction they ended up getting.

The Young@Heart Chorus is full of elderly people who have a huge passion for singing. They arrived at the jail to perform in the prison courtyard as the inmates sat in the grass and watched. At the beginning of the video, one of the seniors explained that a group member had passed that day, so the performance would be dedicated to him. The senior went on to say that they would be performing the iconic Bob Dylan song “Forever Young,” which is an emotional tune for anyone who hears it.

An elderly woman walked up to the microphone and began to belt out the song. She then switches places with a male member of the group, who takes on the next part of “Forever Young.”

As the senior citizens sing, the prison inmates can be seen totally transfixed by them. Some of them even start to cry as they are overcome with emotion from the song. The combination of the senior citizens and the emotional lyrics ends up being too much for some of the prison inmates, and they can’t hold what they are feeling inside.
