Most parents will do absolutely anything for their children, and one father just proved this by saving his son from a burning car after it crashed into a wall during a NASCAR race.

Mike Jones’ race in the NASCAR Late Model 100 came to a fiery end when his car burst into flames after he crashed. The car caught on fire after it slid and crashed into the wall. While the crowd looked on in complete shock, Mike’s father took action.

Crew Chief Dean Jones ran straight for the burning car without hesitating, ready to risk his own life to save his son. Dean wasn’t about to let his son die right in front of him, so he jumped the barrier and ran onto the track at the South Boston Speedway in Virginia.

Dressed in just a T-shirt and shorts with no form of protection, Dean ran into the flames and used all his strength to yank his son out of the car. Once Mike was safe, Dean went back into the car to turn on the car’s fire suppression system.

It turns out this wasn’t the first time Dean had saved his son’s life.

“I remember catching in an all-star tournament when I was 12 and I got knocked out from a play at the plate,” Mike said. “My dad Dean Jones hopped the centerfield fence and ran to home plate to make sure I was OK. 16 years later nothing has changed.”
