Audra Petraskiene was out driving near her home in Lithuania when she looked out her window and saw something that sent chills down her spine.

Audra noticed a small dog shivering soaking wet on the side of a river. As she got closer, she realized something truly horrible had happened, as the animal had an anchor tied to his neck. It was then that she came to the sad realization that someone had tried to drown the dog.

Audra immediately bolted out of her car and went to comfort the freezing canine. Audra’s daughter Andra later recounted what her mother had found.

“Apparently, somebody put a heavy metal item on his neck and dropped him in the river to drown,” Andra said. “The dog was scared and shaking from the cold as well.”

Nobody knows how the dog managed to escape the water, but it’s clear that this canine defied all the odds to survive.

“He’s a real fighter,” Andra said.

Audra dried the dog off and took him home with her. She managed to use household tools to remove the anchor from the dog’s neck, and she then took him to the local veterinarian for a checkup. The vet said that while the dog was very shaken up, he is otherwise perfectly healthy.

Police have launched an investigation to try and find the perpetrators who tried to kill this little dog.

Audra has decided to keep the dog, and she wants to give him all the love he deserves.

“She will definitely do what’s best for this dog,” Andra said.

Andra could not be more proud of her mom, as she sees her as a true hero for what she did for an animal in need.

“I am very proud of her,” Andra said. “She loves animals and always takes care of them.”

We can only hope that the sick people who tried to murder this innocent dog are tracked down and brought to justice. SHARE this story if you think they should rot in prison!
