Though Lana is a puppy who is just 8 months old, she already knows a lot about being kind to others.

Lana was a stray dog living on the streets of Brazil before she was rescued and adopted by Suelen Schaumloeffel. While Lana now lives in a happy and loving home, she never has forgotten the streets that she came from. That’s why Suelen was not surprised when she spotted Lana helping another canine in need.

On a particularly cold night, Suelen wrapped Lana in a thick blanket and tucked the puppy into bed in her dog house. She had no idea at the time that Lana would end up giving up this blanket to someone else who needed it more.

When Suelen’s fiancé walked outside to go to work the next morning, he was stunned to see that Lana had managed to drag the thick blanket outside so that she could share it with a stray dog in the street!

Suelen had seen the stray dog near her home a few days before, but she was not able to figure out if he was homeless or not. She was touched when she saw what her puppy had done for the stray dog!

“I thought, ‘How beautiful what she did for her friend,’” Suelen said. “My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!”

Suelen has tried to approach the stray dog a few times since then, but he always runs away from her. She has been leaving food and water out for him to try and both help him and earn his trust, knowing that this is what Lana would want her to do.

“She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met,” Suelen said of Lana. “We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life but she has reminded me of this.”

We could definitely use more creatures like Lana in the world!
