When 8-year-old Maurice Adams Jr. asked his mom to pull over the car so he could help an elderly woman struggling to get up some steps, he had no idea his selfless act of kindness was being videotaped by a stranger.

The Georgia boy says he just wanted to help the woman get safely up the steps. In the video, you can see the young man placing his arm around the woman and helping her pick up her walker for each step until she made it safely to the top of the steps.

When they finish their climb to the top of the steps, the woman hugs him and thanks him before Maurice runs back to his mother’s car. The person filming the video was Riley Duncan and he shared the video on a community Facebook page.

The video caption read, “Thank you God for our youth.” The video got an overwhelming response and has been shared more than 19,000 times on Facebook, and it’s easy to see why.

When the video went viral, someone connected Duncan with the boy’s mother, Contrica Hill. When Hill told Duncan about her son, Duncan said he wanted to meet Maurice and give him $100 for his selfless act.
