A heartwarming video is going viral this week that is sure to make you love this country even more!

Raymond T. Mohr is a 99 year-old World War II veteran who served as a radio operator with the Army’s 29th Infantry Division and landed on Omaha Beach the day after D-Day. Last week, he took the field during a minor league baseball game to sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch.

The game took place in Allentown, Pennsylvania between the IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Charlotte Nights. During the game, the teams were celebrating Military Appreciation Day with a military-style hat giveaway and many veterans in attendance.

The best moment of the game came when Raymond stepped onto the field to sing “God Bless America.” The love this veteran has for his country is palpable during his performance!

“What an incredible moment,” the IronPigs wrote alongside the video when sharing it on social media. “99-year-old WWII Veteran Raymond T. Mohr, who fought in the Battle of Normandy, sang ‘God Bless America’ at tonight’s game.”

We’re so glad to see that these teams honored American military veterans in such a moving way. These days, it often feels like veterans in this country do not get the respect that they deserve. Military veterans have put their lives on the line for the rest of our freedoms, and we owe it to them to honor and respect them in return!
